Why
Good question
Some answers ...
- this site had nothing on it (well it had the attitude adjustment tool which i still link to)
- the domain is currently in google's supplemental index
- i would prefer the domain be useful
- blogs are fine, but by design older content is buried in a blog and they look stale if not updated frequently
- the informal aspect of blogs is fine, but this format allows informality with the option to improve a piece of content over time if desired
- a place for random stuff - experiments, thoughts, things i learn
- a place for incremental, work-in-progress content development - that will end up different places one day maybe
- a place for smaller, one-off projects to live or start
- to play around with integrating a wiki for content management - and use this site as an extension of a wiki i use as a notebook of sorts
- to share things i learn or work out that might be useful to other people
- to highlight content developed elsewhere or content that doesn't have an obvious place to be published, for example my thesis abstract Just World Beliefs, Religiosity, and Explanations for Suffering
- not necessarily constrained to work topics - maybe interesting to me - maybe something fun - maybe some politics
- to foster some creative thinking
- a homepage that is never the same twice - and as content grows is going to look kinda crazy
- to build something that looks static but isnt
- couple of installation-esque things
- i saw this site and especially this page and thought it was cool
- a place for a more personal voice
